People who do a lot of web surfing and program installs know that temporary files get dropped all over your hard drive. Keeping your drive running with the space that it really should have isn't always easy. This is why I'm thankful for utilities like Ainvo Disk Cleaner Portable.

ADCP removes unnecessary files from your computer's drives. Log files, temp files, and the like are easily identified by ADCP and presented for your approval before deletion. Its wasy to search for temporary files using the "Find temporary files" link. Once displayed, you can select the files you want to delete using the "Select files for deletion" link. Clean the disks using the "Disk cleanup" link. Its quick, and fairly comprehensive.

Pros: Small, quick and easy to use.

Cons: Hits only the obvious files. Doesn't do any real deep file scanning.

Conclusion: ADCP is a good program. However, I don’t think it goes deep enough.  Temp files are pretty easy to identifiy either by their extensions or file types.  What the app appears to fail to do is a deeper file scan for inactive or rarely accessed or used, non-programmatic files. While you may be able to delete a number of files and recover a great deal of space, the application could do a better job if it did more than scratch the surface.
